This guy has something going on with these drawings.

Just found his stuff randomly. At first I thought I’d contact him to do some illustration work. Then I realized he’s way out of my league. Or, the free league anyway.

Techno Tuesday

is funniest comic strip I’ve seen in a long time. It’s done by Andy Rementer, an artist based in New Jersey.
Most of this guy’s work shows the day to day addiction, pain and isolation felt in the world of technology. But the fact that it’s a comic makes gives it an off-kilter feel. Some of it’s lighthearted, some of it quite hard hitting. Brilliant stuff.

I like writing with this sort theme in mind. Reminds me of Jacques Tati’s films.

Russians

Some of the Russian illustrators and artists I come across seem so far beyond the average it really makes me curious about their education and training.
I came across thisvia a web site I frequent called Drawn!
Fantastic.

and leading off…

You wouldn’t know it, but this is from “101 Dalmations,” done by Walt Peregoy, the color sylist for the film. I love this image. The colors are so bright, like Valentine’s Day candy. Yet, at the same time there’s a feeling of doom and gloom. Maybe because they’re bishops in a church.

It’s from Cartoon Modern, one of the many drawing sights I lurk around in–both for kicks, and in hopes of finding a likeminded illustrator who might want to collaborate with me and my writing.
